Booking & Payment

If booking directly with us rather than online, we require 50% payment in advance and will only hold a reservation for 24 hours unless otherwise agreed. Payment should be made by bank transfer.

Cancellations & refunds

We offer a full refund on cancellations made more than six weeks prior to your stay. If you cancel less than six weeks before your arrival, we will do our best to resell the holiday and, if successful, will refund you 75% of the cost of your stay. If we are unable to resell the holiday, you will not be reimbursed. We therefore recommend you take holiday cancellation insurance to cover any losses should we not be able to resell the holiday.

Redwood Valley are not liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event we are prevented from fulfilling your booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control. Such circumstances shall include (but will not be limited to) war, terrorism, serious crime, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics or such similar events (“Force Majeure”). We recommend that you have adequate holiday insurance in place to cover this.

Arrival & Departure

Your accommodation will be ready from 3pm on your arrival day. As we do not have a reception, please arrive between 3pm and 5pm or let us know if you are going to be later than planned so that someone is here to greet you.

Departure is by 11am unless otherwise agreed.

Facilities and cleaning

As the shower, loo, kitchen areas are shared, we ask you to please keep these tidy and accommodate others. Each yurt and the cabin have their own food storage box and fridge but the hobs and sink are communal so please clean up straight after use. We will empty the bins, clean the showers and loos and take the recycling away. Please sort your rubbish and recycling and place it in the correct bins.

Please do not wear outdoor shoes in the yurts or cabin – for this reason we advise you to bring slippers and other easy to kick off footwear. Please leave your accommodation and outside area as you found it, including putting away any futons. You do not need to clean out the log burner.

Noise

We are a small and peaceful site and do not allow amplified music. We request that all noise is kept to a minimum, especially after 11pm.

General Safety

The cabin and each yurt has a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and a fire extinguisher. We also provide heat resistant gloves for loading the stove and fire guards are available on request. Candles or paraffin lanterns are not permitted inside the yurts or cabin so you may wish to bring battery lanterns for extra light. Please only use the designated fire pits for your campfire. Campfires are to be attended at all times and must be kept small and manageable. Firewood is provided with no additional charge, we therefore ask our guests to be respectful of this by only burning what is required and never leave the campfire or log burner unattended.

Parents and/or guardians are expected to supervise their children at all times. Guests are welcome to walk around the grounds and we would like children to enjoy the woodland and brook, but their safety is your responsibility. In the interests of safety and causing minimum disturbance to wildlife, we request that you stick to the paths and keep out of the pond. We take every care to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable holiday, but cannot be held liable for any accidents or consequential loss.

Dogs

Dogs (except service dogs) are not permitted.

Inappropriate, dangerous or illegal behaviour

We hope that we will never have to enforce this but, in the unlikely event of inappropriate, dangerous or illegal behaviour, we reserve the right to ask guests to leave immediately.
